My lark. My angel. My boy.

« on: November 23, 2009, 05:42:21 PM »

My most treasured possessions are pictures in matching frames of my two boys - the first taken outside their incubators.

It's a while now since Alastair first pointed to Guy and said 'baby', but today was the big first  - 'That's Guy.'

I've no idea when the time will come that he understands who he is, but like so many firsts with LTs it really, really  hurts.

i really feel for you hun, we wait for it, it happens, it hurts like hell! I remember the first time bens twin holly said bens name, felt like i'd been winded. But do you know what-it's lovely hearing her say it now! Because it means she knows him/aknowledges him, something i deep down worried she wouldn't. So i do hope it gets easier and becomes lovely to hear. But the 'first' is so, so hard. Thinking of you all x

it is heartwrenching when they say their name for the 1st time but as time goes on it is lovely to hear. my children talk about caitlin all the time and its great. even though she is not here physically, she is a big part of our family. i am sorry that guy is not here to play with his brother.  kis

Thanks, ladies.

Alastair has been obsessed with babies these past few months, and a number of people have said boys seem to go through this stage more than girls, so it's been hard for me because getting pregnant again is such a long shot,  and I just don't think I could handle it mentally if I suffered another loss.

At the moment he's parroting what I've told him, but I so  dread the day he has to be told and understands.

best wishes to you all,
Gilly

Gilly

Bless you, such a bittersweet moment.  Oliver was not a twin but we were visting my Uncle in his nursing home at the weekend and one of the nurses asked him if he had any brothers or sisters he said "yes in heaven watching me and keeping me safe" OMG it broke my heart to here that.

Take care

Dawn xxxxx.  kis kis
